Adding Floors or Room types for floor plans

In your Organization Settings, you manage the available choices when building floor plans for your types. Integration partners (like OTAs) use this data during synchronization to categorize your listings.

A floor plan helps guests visualize accommodation layout and bedroom configurations, and major OTA partners use room-by-room mapping of amenities. By adding a floor plan, BEX PMS can send this data automatically to connected channels.

  • Click the gear icon to open Organization settings, and scroll down to the menu items 'Floors' and 'Room types'.

Floors

Floors are optional, and can be used if you want to organize rooms by level (e.g., Ground Floor, First Floor) for multi-story properties.

  1. Click 'New' to add a floor.

  2. Enter the name, and use the flag icon to add translations if needed.

  3. Click 'Save'.

Reordering floors

After creating multiple floors, use the ‘Reorder’ function to place ground floors at the bottom and upper floors at the top to set the logical display order. This affects the order in the floor plan overview of the type in both PMS and CMS.

Room types

Room types categorize the individual spaces in your properties (e.g., Bedroom, Bathroom, Kitchen).

  1. Click 'New' to add a room type.

  2. Enter the name, and use the flag icon to add translations if needed.

  3. Select the matching semantic room type.

Selecting the correct semantic room type is important because integration partners rely on this classification to recognize and apply room data during synchronization.

  4. Click 'Save'.

Next step: creating a floor plan

Once your room types and optional floors are configured, you can start building the floor plan on your types. Start by going to the types index of the correct administration.

Booking.com synchronization update

Starting in 2027, all types (including camping spots) that are newly added to Booking.com require a floor plan with at least one bedroom. To be considered a valid bedroom, it must have at least one bed configured.

  • Existing types synchronized with Booking.com without a floor plan will continue to work as usual.
