Options for cost item calculation based on occupancy

In addition to calculating a cost based on per pet, or per person per day, it is also possible to add conditions that exclude the first couple of persons, or set a maximum.

Note that these settings are only available for cost items that have a calculation method that is 'per pet', 'per pet per day', 'per person', or 'per person per day'.

When to use these settings

To create an additional charge for any person staying that is above the standard occupancy of a type. Or, to create a pet fee that stops counting at more than 3 pets. You can also create a tiered cost structure.

Count persons or pets from: Enter the number of people or pets that you want to exclude from the calculation.
To create a cost for additionally placed beds in a 6 person type, enter '6' here. The cost item will be applied for any person above the standard 6-person occupancy.

Maximum number of persons or pets to count: Enter the maximum number for which the cost item can be applied.
To create a cost that charges a fee per pet, but you want to stop charging extra at more than three pets, enter '3' here.

Tiered cost structure

By combining both of these fields, it is possible to create multiple cost items resulting in a tiered cost structure. These costs can then all be applied simultaneously without double charging.
For example, cost 1 charges X for the first 4 people in a reservation (maximum 4).
Cost 2 charges Y for the next 4 people in the same reservation (count from 4, maximum 8). Cost 3 charges Z for any more people in that reservation (count from 8).
